PatCom Fiberoptic Endoscope for FEES and SLPs
Our endoscope has a 3.4mm outer diameter with a rounded tip, making the outer diameter at point of contact 3.0mm. This allows for easy passage and increased patient comfort, but not at the cost of image quality. With 18,000 fibers the image quality is superior even to endoscopes with larger diameters. Although patient comfort is important to us, we did not forget about the comfort of the SLP. This is reflected in the design of our product. The benefit to SLPs is especially noticeable when it comes to the smooth toggle that makes it comfortable to perform long FEES exams. Our three points of contact on the endoscope allow for multiple methods of handling the scope in ergonomic and comfortable ways. The rounded tip allows for reduced residue on the tip and easier removal of secretions from the tip.
Our complete system is incredibly light. It weighs only 11.4 lbs with all the equipment (including the PatCom provided laptop) in the portable carrying case. We understand that those who work in speech therapy private practice are constantly on the move to be near their patients. Hauling large equipment is frustrating, time consuming, and potentially dangerous. The portability of our product makes it very easy for private practice SLPs to conduct FEES without the need for bulky equipment or stationery office space.
Becoming a private FEES practitioner is really difficult. Especially when searching for an endoscope that checks all your boxes while staying in a reasonable price range. Q: Do you have a warranty? How long is it?
A: Our equipment comes with a 1 year manufacturer’s defect and workmanship. This ensures that when the equipment was made, proper equipment was used and the assembly was done properly. We do offer an extended warranty for a small additional charge. This warranty does not cover wear/tear,accidents, loss, misuse, etc. A good insurance coverage usually supports you more than extended warrantyQ: I’m not completely sure that I want to make such a large purchase without knowing the product better. Is it possible to try before I buy?A: We understand how important it is to be able to feel your equipment before you can commit to it. We are happy to schedule an onsite visit for you with one of our clinical specialists who are all experienced endoscopists.
Q: Do you provide software? Or do I need to outsource software?
A: PatCom’s software is called MediaWorkstation. This software allows the practitioner to have an ‘all-in-one’ software experience that lets you make reports, record, annotate, and organize patient profiles all in the same program. However, the camera is compatible with other software. It can also connect via USB to your computer in which you can simply use the built-in camera to make recordings.
